Entreq security bonnet hinges
A question for those who have installed these Entreq security hinges.
I have read that in the factory the Defender bonnet gets painted with the original hinges already installed, so when installing the Entreq hinges in lieu of the original hinges, does this leave a piece of unpainted or base painted metal of the bonnet visible? Or is the footprint of the Entreq hinges as big as or bigger than the original hinges footprint?
I would like to know if I am facing a little paint job too when these Entreq hinges will be installed.
Tks, Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Ive been looking into this too and as far as i can gather the footprint of the entreq is slightly smaller than originals leaving a small area needing some paint. Im considering using a matt black vinyl under the base of the hinge.

Scan the base the and annotate with some dimensions and I can probably cut you a gasket from something like foam or rubber at work if you want.

Would have to charge for the job though as I have used my freebees for a while but would imagine only 25ish quid
