Hi Driver,
If I haven't welcomed you before 'welcome,' the southern masses continue to expand...... I am just about to treat my 08 Defender to some of this..... http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic1752.h...rustmaster It 'goes against the grain' to spend about 400 on a product that is not going to visibly enhance or improve the functionality of my vehicle but well worth it from the numerous postings on this subject. Have you not considered doing something like this yourself? After nearly 3 years surface deterioration is surely only to be expected underneath in my opinion, I reckon that under warranty you may have a fight on your hands but you'll only be in the same boat further down the line. Prevention is better than cure in my eyes. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

me rust in cornwall. It must be all the sea air
When I was a VW type 2 geek people always tried to buy old vehicles from the south west where they have no need of rooad salting. Obviously before global warming I have had mine waxoiled and there are still places where the nuts and bolts are rusty. Do what K9 says get it protected but try them for the corrosion warranty first 59 2.4 110 XS Utility 55 TD5 110 CSW Special Vehicle |

I have noticed that the paint on the bottom of my front bumper is coming off in parts. Must flag this with the dealer before next service. Also side steps are rusting. Don't know what they will do about that. I put carwax on my rear cross member and it keeps it o.k. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Had my bumper swapped out under warranty for the very same reason, was gutted when I discovered it. Headlamp retaining rings are also worth a close look at Spudfan if you're going to the dealers anyway for rust issues. Thank you all. As I am half way through the warranty I am not overly worried at the moment. Second service due in May/June so I will log these before service is due. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
