United Kingdom 1999 Defender 110 Td5 SW Caledonian Blue
Galaxy Tab 3 7"
Having just purchased a Tab 3 7" I tried charging in the car but it doesn't charge. The USB charger is a Blue Sea one and have tried both ports and also tried a adapter from a cigarette socket to USB and that doesn't work,
I tried the cables on a charger in work and it worked.
Does anyone else run a tab 3 7" and charge off a BlueSea USB adapter ? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I use the mains charger off an inverter in the car seems to work fine. I never use anything other than genuine chargers for any tablet or phone, i just do not trust aftermarket products with sensitive devices

I was just using two generic leads that I use for my phone and the wifes phone, which work fine
I have also just tried the genuine Samsung USB lead that came with the Tablet and that does not work.

The tablet is 87% charged.

Either
A) not enough current leaving the BlueSea / Cigerate socket USB convertor
B) Tablet uses extra pins for charging that works fine with a 240v plug in charger but not with in car ones
C) Other... 1999 Defender TD5 110

It needs to be 2.1A plus to charge. I bought an adapter off of eBay that has a double output (says it's one for Apple, one for Android), it plugs into the standard Defender socket and works fine. My Disco 'best bits'

Just checked the specification of the BlueSea USB socket and the max output is 2.1A
Just tried it on a USB adapter like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-3-WAY-CAR-US...20d4f189ef
and with an output of 500ma, the tablet starts to charge.

My thought, is the USB one above might have a different pinout (maybe an extra pin for charging) than the BlueSea one? 1999 Defender TD5 110
