Think Massi do a solid window that fits into frame.

if you can get some delivered (e.g. Massai mentioned above) then it really is doable DIY. Just make sure you get the template (Massai do a good one)
and measure 3/4 times so you only have to cut once! And mask off the area where your cutting through so that you don't scratch the paint around where you're fitting the window. A bead of silicone to seal and you're done. Its not difficult to get the interior trim too. I've done it twice, no biggie. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

When you say that, do you mean cut the panel or cut some glass to go in some window frames? An engine to TDi for! "Land Rover- Proudly turning drivers into mechanics since 1948" |

Thanks for all the replies but yes Gum97 I'd like a solid piece of glass cut to fit into the aluminum frame that normally has the sliding windows. I'd arranged someone to cut the glass for me, gave them the empty frame but they kept promising to drop the glass off then not show, phoned to say please drop the glass off only for him to walts up today and give me back the empty frame saying "tell him to let me know when he wants the glass"
(Other half had been dealing with him until I called to do the chasing) A word to the wise isn’t necessary - it's the stupid ones that need the advice. Between the two evils I always pick the one I never tried before. |

Ahh sorry I got the wrong end of the stick!
You may find it's cheaper to replace the whole thing though, they're not expensive I don't think! Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Dave - yeah I've seen some with solid side windows fitted straight in like the rear quarters but I'd still have to get someone to cut a glass to fit x x A word to the wise isn’t necessary - it's the stupid ones that need the advice.

Must be plenty of local glass cutters who will cut you a piece of laminated glass,it's easy enough job. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

so you don't need to cut the frame to get the glass in ? Interesting, masai and nene both do a solid window complete with frame but only tinted (not clear)
sidebar: I saw a black 90 csw yesterday with landyglass but finished off really well and being black it just looked like a 90 van until you looked carefully.. |

Click image to enlarge I can do a solid glass side window too... Not just a case of fitting the glass as the channel within in the frame needs changing too... in all honesty easier to fit the complete units - I can do them in clear or tinted. Landy Glass is another good option that works well on dark Defenders. +1, this 90 did look good. I never realised it wasn't a van until Steve pointed it out to me. Interior trim looked fine too. like a factory finish. |
