Motorised Scooters
Just watched the news this morning & seen off road style motorised scooters driving along footpaths across countryside.
The ramblers seem to think that this is ok.
Riding 3 abreast. Whistle
1even had a recovery rope on the front.
These people want right of access to the footpaths for all these motorised scooters.
How long before all the footpaths are all chewed up from these. Most of the people riding them are ramblers who have obviously become unable to walk.
I have no problem with this myself, just wondering when motorised vehicles were allowed on footpaths.

May see them out on the lanes in convoy. Rolling with laughter

I also saw this and noticed that at least one of these was road registered, what difference between one of these and a quad

I am all in favour of access for all to the countryside but the ramblers can,t have it both ways. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Are we talking Go-ped?
If so, they are illegal for certain, you can't get them legalised any more.
I should know I had one in my younger days....
Got rid of it because it was impossible to use without breaking the law anywhere really.

@ custom90steve, These were not scooters but mobility scooters with 4 wheels but a sort of 4x4 look ie big wheels knobbly tyres etc.

As mentioned previously one even had a recovery rope wrapped around his front "bull bar" what would they use to recover it if it got stuck I don't know !

You should be able to see the article on BBC I player. 2005 Td5 90 XS

mobility scooters
I think have to have something like max speed 4 mph that way you don't have to have a licence or insurance
don't know if size of them matters

top gear done a thing on the off road ones a while back

It depends on top speed and motor size / power I think its over 6 or 12 mph it needs to be registered etc
Bit like a moped. Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires.
