Heat shield
Right gents what is the heat sheild for not the one over the Cat and turbo but one fastened to the engine seems to be covering a metal pipe thing is its broken loose and rattling but I have decated the down pipe so the question is do I need it and buy a new one or can I remove and bin it since Ive removed the cat

Its got to be this one but looking at the pic its to protect a switch or sensor from the manifold

That shield is a common source of rattles as it just clips over the crankshaft position sensor. The clip or pop rivet holding the clip to the shield often work loose, easy fix but a PITA to refit. Steve.
