Fens heads-up
Police are warning Land Rover owners to check their security measures after a spate of thefts of vehicle parts in West Norfolk.

Three incidents have been reported:
- Between 10.30pm on Thursday 27 March and 1am on Friday 28 March offender(s) have removed two doors and the bonnet from a Land Rover Defender in Marsh Road, Outwell.
- The interior seats, the front grill and head lamps have been stolen from a Land Rover Defender on Common Road, West Bilney between 5pm on Sunday 6 April and 10am on Monday 7 April.
- Between 8pm on Tuesday 8 April and 7am on Wednesday 9 April, both doors have been removed from the Land Rover Defender on Low Road, Stow Bridge.

Superintendent Dennis Lacey, said: "This type of crime appears to be a national trend with several other forces reporting similar offences. The thefts are mainly in rural locations and the thieves are clearly taking some time in removing the items. The parts are often large so it is suspected that the offenders are using a van or a flatbed to transport the parts away from the scene.

"If you own a Land Rover we would ask that if possible you review your vehicle security system or consider parking your vehicle in a garage overnight.”

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any of these thefts, who noticed anything suspicious in the areas around the times stated or with further information.

Contact Norfolk Constabulary on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Would be nice if the law could stop this. I'm sure most of the thieving scum are known to the police but sadly even when they manage to catch and prosecute them, the courts never punish them enough. Funnily enough, I reckon if I ever found a thief, I'd end up getting banged up for good. I need to be more of a scumbag in my next life so I can get away with murder.

After 30years of policing this land, I reckon that if you gave me just 60 mins in one of these... a fully equipped A10 warthog

I could take this county back to a halcyon time perhaps 20yrs ago; when leaving your back door unlocked meant nothing etc
