IIRC a Strange Rover was a Range Rover classic based comp safari racer type thing in the 80,s 2005 Td5 90 XS

I think that the original Strange Rover wes based on a Range Rover chassis with the engine shifted to the rear and a TR7 body grafted on and for the life of me I can't remember who built it. There was also a few hill rally buggies called Strange Rovers.
