I just ordered the Mobius dashcam. I do not like the footprint of the camera install on the windscreen, for obvious reasons. By means of an extension lead the camera lens of the Mobius can be separated and the electronics can be tucked away out of sight, leaving a very neat and almost invisible install. Full review and explanation here (thanks to mrd1990 ).
So to avoid this: Click image to enlarge I am going to do this: Click image to enlarge When it has arrived and I have installed it I will report back Cheers, Vincent 1959 Polynorm 1/4 Ton Trailer, Olive Drab Green (sold) 1970 M416 Military Trailer (Camping Trailer Conversion), Epsom Green (sold) 1975 Series III 88 V6, Light Green (sadly sold) 1996 Defender 110 CSW 300 Tdi, Epsom Green (sold) 2000 Freelander 1 TD4 3-drs, Silver (sold) 2006 Freelander 1 TD4 5-drs Facelift Automatic, Tonga Green (sold) MySite |

Reading only quite good reviews on amazon.com about the Garmin dash cam 20. Tempted. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Been looking into dash cams for a while now and I think I'm going with a blackvue, question is which one? I'm looking at the DR600GW, any thoughts?

...but eminently doable with a little extra wiring... I believe the best two cam set up currently available is the awesome Vico Marcus 5 Dual... Techmoan does a pretty good review of this model > HERE < The only thing you will need to do for a multi car set up is purchase the additional cables for each one and, rather than using the permanent sticky mounts just get hold of the equivalent suction mounts, which are excellent alternatives... Oh, and you can get a dual adaptor unit for your 12v socket... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

This is what I have setup, works really well and the view is perfect. ignore the USB 12v socket - normally the cam is powered from the radio's USB with a power only USB cable, but that's on holiday with a friend for the week.. Having been let down rather badly by Misco (what a useless shower of $@&$!) on my Transcend ProDrive 200, I now have one on back-order with Amazon (some time towards back end of March!)... So, having re-visited TechMoan and watched his various excellent reviews, I too have ordered the Mobius 1080 DashCam, complete with the re-formation kit you have described Vincent... By the by - has yours arrived and been fitted yet VT... Not sure whether I will go that route yet, but the camera itself seems to be an excellent buy for the money... When my Transcend finally arrives I will probably just hardwire the Mobius into my Mamba as a rear cam jobby... If anyone else is wondering which DashCam to go with I fully recommend TechMoan < Linky... Rog... The GREEN One...
