Bit of a length of string question. Why not just change the loom it's quick, cheap and easy to do.

You'll need the loom and also a rocker cover gasket which together will come to about £45 if I recall correctly. They are available on-line for various prices but, as with most things, buy the best one you can. Mine's a Td5, I assume yours is too?
It took me 45 minutes to do at a leisurely pace and in the dark. The good news is that it's an instant fix. Only thing to watch out for is the seating of the rocker cover gasket in the half moon section at the rear of the engine, otherwise it's very straightforward. |

Once you've replaced the injector loom and cleaned out the red plug you will need to check the red plug there after every fortnight as you will still get the remainder oil working its way out, mine took another 2 cleans over a 4 month period. I also used electric grease on the plugs it does help..

Replaced the Injector loom & gasket today. Didn't find any oil in the usual plug. None at all.
