Aha - it was hidden behind two large black cables on the bracket

Usually about 5-10cm down the cable is the connector.
Not directly attached to main body, it has a tail.. |

Just wanted it off to clean it - apparently a sticky bonnet switch can be the cause of alarm/immobiliser weirdness.
I'm not posting photos...but how would that give thieves anything useful they wouldn't know already Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
