Washer jet - pinched hose?
Afternoon, all...

So I had my front windscreen washer jet (which had snapped off for the second time) replaced a few weeks ago. At first it worked fine, then after a while it started losing pressure at the windscreen... Now when I press the button the motor whirs but nothing comes out at the jet (for a few minutes while watching from the outside I could see a tiny trickle coming out of the jet holes, but this stopped).

The rear washer works fine - and the front washer motor is definitely whirring, although it doesn't sound like it's encountering any resistance which makes me think there might be air in the line or something.

Anyway any ideas what the next step should be? Check for a pinched line behind the dash?

Cheers

How was it replaced? Did they just adhere a new nozzle on? It sounds like there could be a blockage perhaps at the nozzle? Mine was the same and it was a chunk of old sealant. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Yeah they didn't take the dash off, just stuck a new nozzle on the end of the hose Geoff

My nozzle kept coming dislodged periodically. Pull yours off and operate the washers to see if there is a problem elsewhere. I made mine a little more secure by sealing a rubber base washer on first see here:

I used Sikaflex 29I marine grade sealant and let it 'go off' for a couple of days before operating it. Worth checking before going further.
