So, got a decent budget and decided to change over my front seats.
Currently got the original 1995 front material seats. Want to upgrade to something a) newer, b) more comfortable and c) better all round. I;m 6 foot and 18 stone so that answeres two questons that will be posed, and its used for both commuting alternate days and longer trips with the bikes in the back - Germany / France / wales and the like. after various amounts of scouring the web, options so far seem to be either Older seats, used, single headrest bar: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-LAND-ROV...3f3245142a Newer double bar style TDCI / PUMA: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defen...1130867744 or what appear to be top end modulars: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-LAND-ROVER-D...1132127893 So big question being, for leather / half leather and HEATED (know I'll need to get a loom from somewhere and get it wired in) who has / recommends what? Is the extra worth it? and finally, depending who recommends what, what Site Sponsors have anything in stock or could do me a deal on something?!? NB - none of the links above are any connection etc to me, just looking through ebay and these seem to be a general selection of the various ones found. TY&GN 10 years in a WOLF, WIMIK and Snatch and this is all I have to show! |

I believe Genuine seats are better quality and value than aftermarket offerings.
A pair of XS half leather Puma seats should be obtainable for around £500. We supply a professional plug and play loom with switches on our website |

Fitted new XS heated seats half leather to my 90, with seat rails for Xtra legroom, I am a big chap and it transformed it for me, added bonus-she who must be obeyed likes them as well
Got mine from LRI Solution who is one of the site sponsors-quick good service too I do my thing and you do yours. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine |

I have never thought any of the standard Land Rover seats are very comfortable, recently I have fitted Mazda RX8 seats to a Defender and they fitted well and were very comfortable. The best seats are the Recaro CS, but in standard trim they are very firm, a trimmer can sort this out with extra padding, but once this is done they are the best seats with the only issue being the seat rubbing on the B pillar slightly.

I have seen used SVX seats go for more money than new Recaro CS's. The new ones are also heated as standard.

Will be doing very shortly as a demo set is on its way from Germany. The good thing is with the scheelman you still have access to the battery boxes. They will be fitted to the white 90, so if anyone wants to try them out, they will be at the spring land rover show. Barbara |
