England 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
who's fitted an EGR?
Hoping someone can help.....

Unfortunately I've run out of time again....
I've managed to remove (and refit) the two bolts on the input side of the egr.

Can anyone advise on the the two bolts that are on the output side ie the bolts that hold the tube in place that houses the MAP sensor?

Are they 10mm bolts?
Are they easier to access than the other two?
If there is / was a gasket at this point would it be the same size as the other gasket or bigger / smaller ?

Thank you

Steve. Thanks v much.

It kinda does help....but having just had a quick look I can't see the bolts for the output side of the egr to output pipe? ... yet looking at the picture above I was expecting them to be easier to see access?

Access is a pig, I'm assuming you are talking about the bolts on the side nearest the rear of the Landy? If so I accessed the lower one of those from underneath, but with great difficulty.
There are four bolts there in total, remove the electrical plug off too for better access.
I did a guide here I thought a couple of years ago but I can't find it any more. Big Cry ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Steve

Big thanks

I've managed to remove the rear bolts (one from underneath - once I had the right spanner for the rear it wasn't as mad as I was expecting)

Just about to go out and have another look for the forward ones........

Welcome, what ever you do though use the correct torque settings when tightening the bolts back up. They have been known to snap and that cuses a whole world of trouble. Shocked ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Just had another look and for the life of me I can't see the front two bolts.....

Other than the egr is there anything else removed from your photos? Which bolts did you find the most difficult to remove?

Thank you

Feel for them if you can't see them?
Nothing removed in my photo except for the EGR.
You can't permanently remove the EGR on a Puma as far as I am aware only disable it on a remap. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Will have another look / feel tomorrow

Should I expect them to be easier or more difficult than the back two?

I can't remember if I'm honest but iirc it was the ones on the side nearest the floor that was most difficult simply because they are more hidden and tucked away. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

The 2 bolts facing the bulk head are 10mm

The 2 facing up are 8mm

I have changed 3 of these pests now. Can do it in less than an hour now

Shame you to far away or I would give you a hand

I found it easier to stick the new gaskets on with some copper grease

Why dont you get a remap & get it switched off. Like me Cool

Good luck Chris
