England 2002 Defender 110 Td5 SW Coniston Green
I had a bit of the same problem, I decided to put on an extra fog and reversing light fittings that I picked up a couple of months ago. Drilled big holes in the back panels for them to fit into, hunted on the nearside in the vain hope that the loom would accomodate some wires for a left hand side fog light but no joy. Threaded a wire through to the right hand side, spliced it into the existing fog light wire and prompty just kept blowing fuse after fuse. Gave up and left the wiring off for another day and started on the extra reversing light, similar story so left the wires off, screwed them on and walked away while it was still in one piece. Must say it looks good, just a pity it doesn't work but I'll get it sorted in the week.

I have all the right wires in all the right places. It just won't work.
And to top it off, I think I (a so called electrician friend) fried 2 of the ballast boxes! It wasn't me!
