I think I'll wait and see how this one develops.

Just doesn't have the suite of features that others can boast yet, maybe when tomtom etc are supported I'll be interested... Cheers, David

Really? Apple? If it was Samsung there would be a 'S -light HD' version released tomorrow.

Apple will update it in bang on a year probably. Cheers, David

This is Apple licensing their interface to car manufacturers etc. It's no more than another way of accessing your phone. As the phone software updates so will the interface - All (well most) apple devices are backwards compatible so it should work with newer phones as they are released.

Yep, just like Defenders, I'm an apple fan too!

Don't get me wrong I'm not condemning Apple just that is what they do. I'm using an iPad right now. No Guts, No Glory.

I think it's certainly something to watch.. We'll probably know when it's a viable option. Don't think it is just yet... Cheers, David

England 2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Alpine White
Apple have been developing this technology with the car industry for a few years. They announced at Geneva Ferrari, Mercedes and Volvo will have it first. Most car manufacturers will have solutions soon after including JLR Mercedes are already looking at retrofit solutions for certain models.

I am sure single and double din units will become available to retro fit but the technology is designed to integrate with the cars computer systems so you can use it to control more than just media. ie. unlock the car with your IOS device, switch on pre heating remotely etc....

The DC100 had a central screen when previewed and JLR hinted this would do a lot more than media. I would expect next gen Defender to have this stuff as standard. Paul
