Warning lights :( go away
Hi all my td5 has developed a new issue, the stop light on the dash (the one that comes on with the handbrake) flickers and occasionally stays on, it happened the morning after she was serviced, no other issues, checked all fluids, what else cause cause this light to illuminate?? Could be chance but seems to happen more if I'm going down hill (with or without brakes) please help I'm worried and its my daily drive cheers Ed

The switch on the handbrake itself. Pull the rubber gaitor off and take the wire off the switch and put it back after a clean.

The switch might have come loose, or the handbrake needs very slight slackening. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

The handbrake switch could be at fault, but I think it also illuminates when there's a brake fluid problem. An engine to TDi for!

It's not the handbrake switch that's already unplugged

If it's happened since the service I'd be looking at the fluid reservoir and associated wiring in the likelihood of it had been disturbed.

Mine was doing this, topped up the reservoir, hey presto - no flashing light. It wasn't me!

If you suspect the brake res. just disconnect it, if you bridge the two wires, your warning light should come on. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.
