If you are able to make a contribution ( however small ) to this charity it would be greatly appreciated. Helen set this up in November but sadly passed away suddenly at far too young an age to be fair.Helen's Funeral is on the 3rd Jan and although the total raised is already impressive it would be good to hit a landmark number before then. James ( Helen's husband of 5 months ) is my nephew and he has lost his soul mate, he will be thrilled to see Helen's efforts making a difference and it will help him move forward. The family have asked for donations to this cause instead of flowers and many people have shared the link on Facebook. I hope I do not offend anyone by sharing the link here. Thanks for reading. I know a lot of people looked at this thread and my thanks if any one donated.
This sad story has been picked up by the BBC , Radio Oxford and now the daily mail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-...paign=1490 It is helping to keep James busy and give him some focus at what is a tough time for him. All the best John |

I thought I would just update this story .
Helen's Just giving page has raised £27000 and a new Help Helen Help the Philippines memorial fund has been set up with lots of fund raising going on. James is now in the Philippines ( Tacloban ) with the charity International Disaster Volunteers and is helping with the re-building ( he is a builder by trade ) . The plan is to spend 6 months there and come back when the money is spent. A new school building is high on the priority list as Helen was a primary school teacher. There will be a new web site soon so I will update you all when that is available. |
