Looking good.

Personally I would not be carpeting the inside. Rubber matting would be better, the carpet only gets wet, then smelly, mouldy, and causes rust and condensation.

Just removed all mine from my Tdci, and binned it Thumbs Up

Looking great - I recently put 2 boxes of Dynamat into mine, I've Dynamatted everywhere even the roof and side panels - only have the bulkhead behind the dash. Would be interested in seeing how you went about doing it and how long it took? http://mylandy90.blogspot.ie/

Well it's been nearly two months now since I last updated this thread, how time flys!

I've been doing various bits and bobs to the 90, mainly tidying up and fixing the little niggles that it had, I'm pleased to report I'm now much happier with it.

The first niggle was to fix a water leak that had appeared just after I bought it, it turned out to be the egr cooler return pipe, it had come out of the clip and had been rubbing on a screw on the inner wing making a small split. After some hunting for the right part number I swapped it over and problem solved.

The second job was the starter motor, I'd found on a few occasions when going to start her up it wouldn't turn over, just a click from the relay, typical solenoid problem so I ordered one from ebay. Once the part arrived the problem disappeared so I sat on it for a while to see how it went, after a few weeks it returned and slowly got worse, it culminated in me sitting at the local petrol station for 45 minutes one day trying to get it to turn over. Enough was enough and I decided to get the solenoid swapped over.

I'd read on a few threads about the starter being a pig to get off, mainly the top nut, well mine didn't disappoint, around two hours to remove just the top nut, so awkward. With that removed it took all of ten minutes to change the solenoid and refit the motor with just the two bottom bolts.

Problem solved and it's been faultless ever since.

On the to do list has been the gearbox oil, I've had a terrible grind when changing down from 5th/4th to 3rd, I was hoping an oil change might fix things but unfortunately not so a refurb gearbox is in order once I've put some penny's aside, I'll manage with it for now.

On a good note I've had some electrical gremlins, clock not working, interior light and trip computer not working correctly. Whilst changing the gearbox oil and removing the transmission tunnel cover, I removed the fuse box, once I'd refitted it they all decided to work again Very Happy there must be a loose connection somewhere which I'll look into another time.

Last but not least I fitted some genuine mudflaps, I Had to drill and tap new holes as my old studs had snapped off, I will take them off again soon to clean up and paint the cross member.

The list of things to do in the next few weeks is getting longer, I still have :-

New springs and shocks to fit all round
Dynamat bulkhead
Fit alarm
Fit central locking
Fit the clutch spring upgrade
Led bulbs for dash
Install new LR radio

I'll update a bit more regularly now I'm a bit more free time wise.

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green
