Smelly Dogs / general in the boot has proved to be a big advantage to me. Just a question of wether it's a 110 or 130. A 130 would leave more room for lockers etc. The DCPU is also quieter than the utility but you lose the ability to put bigger items through the back. A 110 DCPU with a chopped HCPU back on ?. You could also put a bulkhead in the Utility.
So thats helped hasn't it Original Member Pie n Pea Club. 110 HCPU Tipper |

Right I hope this helps and reads correct.
I bought my XS USW last year for an eveyday drive and overland vehicle, When bought it I got rid of my Td5 XS dc. Now the USW is fantastic for what I want, it's more secure than a SW with windows in the rear, it's comfy and I think you'll find that the rear seats in a SW are mounted about 90mm further back than a dc giving you a little bit extra leg room in the back and that's how it come from the factory! At the minute there is just me and swmbo but the inevitable pitted patter of tiny feet will hopefully come along some day and the USW will be able to fit us the kids and the dogs (also on their way in the nearer future). However one thing I really do miss is being able to just though and old dirty smelly crap in the back of my old dc and not having to worry about it (including dogs). This isn't really possible with the carpet in the back of the USW. So I have toyed with the idea of a 130 or a 110 hcpu, but that's a different story. When it come to the shear size of the 130 did make me think until I looked at the wheel base of say the hilux or the Nivara, they are all within a few inches of each other. I do like the idea of a full length roof rack for a 130 being 3.5m long (don't know how I would use it all but the idea just sounds great to me!). I only other thing to think about is you will have the extra cost of a secure back (there is only so much you can fit on the back seat of a defender to keep dry and out of harms way). To sum it all up, Yes I love my 110 XS USW for what ive bought it for but would love to get a 130 and fill it with kit for evey eventuality (some kit I would never use). I'd say USW. The 130's are great (AndrewS's in particular) but what bothers me about them for overlanding is the the fact that there is a huge amount of vehicle overhanging the back axle. If you fill it with heavy gear you're kind of asking for handling and wear problems when overlanding. I know the guys with them will say ah yes but no but and for those who modify them I'm sure they work brilliantly, but for general use if you don't need all that space then a USW would be the one for me. There is still huge space in a USW anyway, albeit not the same as a 130

Andrew,
The hood is now an extra at £340, however do the Exmoor Trim Mohair hoods fit the factory stick set? Its probably going to be cheaper for me to buy the factory hood and sticks and buy the Black Mohair on top rather than shelling out £420 for the Exmoor Stick set with the hood on top - but will it fit? What do you reckon? Ian |

"Agreeable or harmonious relation of parts within a whole; balance or symmetry" Love the 130 too though - shame there are no XS versions... |
