Mac, I asked for it to be pulled. There were some very firm opinions, and the last couple of posts were clearly going to make it into an argument at any moment. I have been on the internet for 11 years, and seen so many forums ruined by petty, puerile arguments. I am of the opinion that no one should say anything on a forum that they wouldn't say to someone's face direct. Sniping, while hiding behind a keyboard isn't pleasant for anyone involved. A way around this is to make sure you are not actually anonymous, so people could track you down if they wished (it isn't hard to find out my name and address form my forum name, for example). It makes you keep the conversation civil and polite. This is a good Land Rover forum - some others are most definitely not! The people on here are knowledgeable enthusiasts, and the conversation is good. Now left.

Mac22, you know why this has been removed as I emailed you back about it! at 2pm yesterday.. so why bring this up in public at 1am this morning? Confused

For the avoidance of doubt, here's why it was removed:

I have just discovered "My Posts" tab and came by this thread.

@ Martin, apologies for "bringing" it up, but my phone is hooked up to the works server for emails...We do get a fair share daily and yours wasn't seen. Thanks for the email and explanation..

@ What Puddle, well said. To be honest, being a newbie and finding one's feet it was amusing getting constantly berated over my short off road exploits.

There is a difference between not acting anonymous, and recklessly making all your personal information freely available online. I am pretty shocked that you think it is a good idea to make you that accessible.
