United Kingdom 2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Bonatti Grey
Tow Bars and Approval.
I know that this to some degree has been done to death, and I know that because I own a 2008 Puma I need an approved tow bar to tow. My question is has anybody simply adapted a standard tow bar to a recovery point when off roading then back to standard when needing to tow.

This is what I am thinking. I have dixon Bate style tow bar, if when I want to off road I remove the variable part of the tow bar ( 6 bolts ) and replace it with a drop plate say with 6 holes in and move the arms up to suit so the arms sit just under the bracket on the under side of the cross member.

So not so simple as a removable hitch and I would need to remove and replace 6 bolts when swapping but not so difficult. 2008 Defender 110 XS CSW
