Brake fluid level switch.
Want to test the brake fluid switch on the brake res. If I bridge the 2 terminals on the brake fluid reservoir cap I assume it will switch the brake warning light off (other issue's notwithstanding)?
Cheers. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

The reservoir cap contains a float switch which makes it incredibly easy to test.

1) Unplug the connector and unscrew the cap
2) Reconnect the electrical connector
3) Turn on the ignition or start the engine (an assistant may help)
4) Hold the cap the right way up, and the light should come on
5) Invert the cap (ie hold upside down), the light should go out.
6) Stop engine and send the assistant to make the coffee while you refit cap by reversing steps 1 and 2.

Job dine. Thumbs Up

Thanks chaps,I only want to bridge it to see if an (intermittent) faulty fluid level sensor is the cause for my intermittent abs fault whilst driving, apparently,on a lot of cars, low fluid disables the abs/tc (to protect the pump) putting the abs/tc/brake warning lamps on.Pray for me!
