They show you a Land Rover statement that said that? Ask for this piece of paper from Land Rover, if they dont have that, ask directly to LR in South Africa. At least here the warranty policies cannot be changed without the buyer agreement. i stand slightly corrected:
http://www.landrover.com/gb/en/lr/owners/w...ssistance/ Under exceptional circumstances, when you cant supply the docs...and LR cant tell them...then you may have to pay first and reclaim. Ring LR CC Mike |

I wouldn't pay anything until 2 things....
1. Confirm with Land Rover Customer Care. 2. Ensure that the arrangement is satisfactory with the people who are going to refund you and that your refund will be forthcoming! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Agree with KF9.
And also other important point: keep the invoice and the replaced spares with you! In fact the Warranty cover when touring said Under exceptional circumstances, you may be asked to pay for repairs that are in fact covered by the Land Rover warranty. If so, you should retain the invoice and, where practical, any replaced parts so that upon your return home your local Land Rover dealer/Authorised Repairer can arrange for prompt reimbursement as appropriate. Were an exceptional circumtance or just common things? Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

The warranty work done was common things.
1.Repair leaking A/C 2. Repair oil leak on transfer box. 3. Replace drive belt due to whistling noise. Cant really see that these warranty repairs is of exceptional conditions. Waiting on feedback from Customer care in South Africa. On a quite night in Africa you can hear the sound of rusting Land Cruisers |

Is there a Land Rover dealer anywhere on the continent of South Africa that has a vague idea what 'quality of service' and a 'fundamental knowledge' of the products he sells is? Personally from the numorous posts from our South African brethren on here....I think not! Rant off....I feel your frustration for you! You have been CMC'd. I had to sell one of my kidneys in Kariakoo to get my Landy out of their workshop again. 2M Tsh for basically an oil change and the confirmation that the rear light switch was broken (i knew before) and that the left rear damper bushings were gone (knew before too). On top of that they had replaced my gear box and diff oils despite me expressively not wanting that. Never again. |
