It has been a little while since I updated here.
I fitted the above mentioned LXV grill, and I'm quite happy with the body coloured look... although a black bonnet badge is definitely on the cards! Click image to enlarge I also got hold of a entreq snow cowl and blanking plate from Brendan and Barbara at the LRO show. Again happy with these and may get them body coloured soon, but i also like the contrast, so a little undecided. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Couple of pics taken after a good wash and dry. I hope to get a dry weekend before the weather sets in to get another coat of wax on the paintwork. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge The main news I guess is that my Defender has been chosen to be in the LRO calendar for 2015. So my truck may well be on many of your walls for a month next year! |

It has been a while so just an update really.
Another phot by the missus of me driving through a ford near Shrewsbury. She wasnt very happy with the depth of field on this one, but it was the best from the day. Click image to enlarge Also purchased a set of Nolden headlights to keep the 'factory' look... i decided i was going for these as soon as LR announced the celebration models, but had to wait for stock to arrive. Impressed with the light output and also the appearance. Realy update the front end and the dark chrome looks great against the corris paintwork imo Click image to enlarge She is off to Twisted on Friday for a list of mods... basically everything i have wanted since collecting from the dealers! DRL Bumper, Privacy tints to rear windows, Gloss black paint to rear cross member, Black powder coating to XS sidesteps, Twisted branded skid plate, Nappa leather dash tops grab handle and cubby box, Gloss black centre radio surround. Also interested in Recaro's but i want to have a sit in them first... Exciting (read expensive) times ahead, but really enjoying ownership |

Looks very nice indeed.
So, are the Noldens, ( they look almst like the standard lights, unlike others I've seen, which I don't like!) the "Dark Chrome" item, rather than the "standard" look, and I've heard that some of these have provision for side lights inside them,...which I wouldn't want. Do you know anything about that? Your Twisted mods sound fantastic,..will you be getting a remap? Very impressed, Pickles. |

@ Pickles - my Noldens have the integrated sidelights... But I opted not to wire them in as they are on a second plug connection. The connection is sealed and therefore not an issue as regard to water ingress.
The above contrast photo really doesn't do the Noldens justice, they are quite different from standard. The light output is very white and the beam is quite similar to those of a modern Audi or bmw. I have also put led bulbs into the standard LR sidelight holder to keep both headlights and sidelights a bright white colour. This is technically illegal in the uk, but unlikely to be picked up. This image shoes the Noldens before the sidelights were changed. Very quick phone pic in a supermarket car park. This is full beam. At low beam the bottom of the light is totally dark, with just a circular light at the top. Click image to enlarge I was planning a remap, however I am putting this off until the warranty expires next March. She has only covered 8500miles and no issues regarding drivetrain so far, but really didn't want to risk it. Thinking maybe bowler next year for the stage 1. Thanks for the feedback, really looking forward to collecting with all the mods |

Hi Adam, I'm considering purchasing the Entreq snow cowl and blanking plate. Before I shell out the cash, just wondered how yours are holding up? Still happy with them? Cheers.

Hi Biggles, as L110CDL says, both products have held out well. No paint flake or anything.
You may have to buy direct from Germany and entreq themselves... In which case it might be worth asking on here if anyone wants to share the postage cost and order a load of stuff. I was thinking of going to the Peterborough show so I could also look out for some for you. Unfortunately nobody distributes entreq gear in the uk anymore. I might be interested in adding to the order if you went down that route of a "group buy"... Just a thought |
