If any of you feel the need to donate like I have then I look forwards to it Smile

I do my bit for charities seeing I'm deaf and have cerebral palsy myself. But then again I don't need to justify myself really for haggling on an used car. Cool 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

Good purchase Surfer dude!
I always think to myself would I buy something again once I've got it and in that case i'd of got as many as I could of at that price Laughing

I deal in boats, a lot of the time these are from Charities. If there so Lazy not to look after something or not find its worth before advertising I see it as there loss. Remember they agreed to the price, im sure despite being a steal, Surfer had their consent to take it Thumbs Up

I wouldn't loose any sleep over it, if you do though Ill take it off your hands for £1000 and you can give the extra to them Wink I'll save you a seat by the Fire aswell if you like, I reckon its more fun down there anyway Rolling with laughter Defender puma dormobile camper

As long as most charities are paying their CEO's funny money salaries, that's their problem. I doubt if they paid book price when they purchased it, nor did they probably pay book price for their new vehicles. Many of the main charities nowadays are big business. How many charity envelopes have you had through the door this year? Whistle LANDYWATCH

Do I detect a degree of anti-charity sentiment on this forum?

Is life all about filling your own pockets and to blazes with the less fortunate?

Ignore the peanut gallery WelshsurferDude, you agreed a price, you didn't screw them out of anything! (always assuming you didn't have a gun to their head of course but somehow I doubt it).

And yes bargain, though a neglected TD5 might make my backside squirm more than, say, a neglected TDi but that's probably my inexperience with the later motors.

If I may use the vernacular, I'm well jealous, innit. Real trucks don't have spark plugs

X2 Thumbs Up And from their point of view they got rid easily of something they did not want anymore.

Most likely happy people on both ends of the trade. Thumbs Up You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

I doubt the clutch fork is broken... it's a Td5, so has the cast iron fork, not the pressed tin one like the Tdi's have.

Unless somehow the thrust bearing has siezed onto the gearbox shaft, i'd be looking at slave cylinder or master.

Diesel jim, thanks for that nugget of advice! Will be looking into the clutch issue this week.

As was mentioned before, an price was reached that both parties were happy with and to be honest they were VERY glad to be shot of it as it was not suitable for their needs anymore. It wasn't even advertised and I only heard about it as my mrs used to work for them so I asked if they would sell it and they jumped at the chance!

Thumbs Up Mr. Green very happy with the purchase and I cant wait to get it all cleaned up and fully working

Got an line on some wolf rims for it at £150 for an set Smile

Going for the classic standard green and white roof with limestone wolf rims Smile perhaps some standard size good year MTR's?

Light guards are coming off to be stripped back to bare metal, galvanised and painted properly. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)
