Hi All,
I found this Clutch kit on Ebay. It's for the Ford Transit engine. If the Puma has the same engine, would this kit give me the same improvements mentioned in the following link : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-TRANSIT-2-4-DI-...9795326113 |

The puma does not have a dual mass flywheel unlike some variations of the transit - there are reported clutch problems with the Puma but they are definately not to do with it being a dual mass flywheel. Thanks |

The dual clutch would be nice to fit tough, wouldn't it be easy to fit since the engine is allready from Ford?

It's not a dualmass kit.The flywheel is a solid one to replace dualmass one.E-mail the seller as it would be a good find if it fits.Cheers Puma 110 SW

Sorry, but its for the OLD DI 2.4L NOT for the our 2.4 TDCi (born on 2006)......
see the metal lever for the clutch operation. Our engine have a coaxial piston..... the spring are different too this is our clutch Click image to enlarge code LR012199 Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition IID Pro MV License |

Just contacted another company in the UK (RS400 Performance Tuning). They informed me that they can convert a factory puma clutch into a 5 paddle cerametalic clutch. According to them, this clutch would perform better than standard if I'm adding another 60hp to the engine.
Any opinions? |

I should be getting an extra 60hp (approx) from the following upgrades:
- Stage 2 Tune Kit + Remap and Delimiter - Samco sport silicone hoses - Performance Exhaust system - Lowered performance suspension suspension system - Allisport propane kit will the 5 paddle clutch of any use ? After installing the above mentioned items, I'm going to drive with the factory clutch for a while and see what happens. I'm almost certain that there is a clutch upgrade for my situation. |

I know nothing of defender tuning but a fair amount on VAG tuning, from that angle silicone hoses will not add any HP or Torque but will allow the engine to breath easier thus in turn allowing the turbo to spool quicker. It baffles me that every one connected with the tuning of these vehicles seems to think that intercoolers add HP, is anyone able to explain why they do in this application? (i know how a intercooler works but never seen one add HP) On the same lines in VAG applications OEM clutches are good foe around 20-30% increases before experiencing slippage. It will depend on what sort of strength the Land Rover OEM clutch is. |

The cooler you can get the intake the the more dense it is so more power, just try driving an intercooled engine without one and you will see how much they do and then you will appreciate what a larger one will do for power |

My son had this type of clutch in his much modified Subaru WRX STi and it was almost undrivable in traffic. OK if you race one. Allan |
