Looks very like a standard reversing light switch.

Its a made by Webster drives.... Maybe standard'ish though not sure! Working towards Carry on camping!

The only thing is in the compressed position the switch is in open circuit , where a brake light would be compressed closed circuit.... Working towards Carry on camping!

Have a look on google here for Threaded ball spring plunger with switch
This type is available as N/O or N/C contacts Sort of thing that RS components would do I'd imagine. |

if you go to intermotor website , then catalogs ,then search by image bit think its at bottom of page , then select switches then reverse light switches then look to see if one looks the same ,,, when you click on number under image it gives you the thread size etc
