Ive used these discounts on two brand new vauxhalls in the past. Its good to see the privelage span further afield.

On the listed Peugeots and Renaults that does not seem anything special to me. Here or in France, as well as in many other European countries, Peugeot and Renault can't sell any car without similar discounts to anybody. Even VW today, which is a much higher appreciated car needs to give all kinds of big discounts to be able to move their stock. European car industry is pretty sick. Even here in Switzerland where car sales were up in 2013, our dear old Land/Range Rover had during all of 2013 a so called "Swiss deal", which amounted to a roughly 8% discount of list price on all models before any negociations with the dealer started. Will see what they have to drum up in 2014 now.... You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Don't forget that JLR do military discounts on their full range too - was something in the range of 12% or 13% on new Defenders last year...

So that's 20k less potential less sales with recent cuts, maybe they should reconsider.
Didn't think of asking last year & by the time I come to swap any linkage between lr & military might just be a long distant memory�� |
