I have given due consideration to the idea of an integrated key for convenience and maybe I am mistaken, perhaps someone can enlighten me as on the face of it by combining the two you are possibly compromising a security layer of your vehicle in the event of losing your key?

The key and fob are two independent security measures. I have always kept the key and fob seperate for that very reason. What exactly is the benefit of combining the two? Lose it or have it stolen and someone is potentially in and away? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
