Let's Re-Write the Highway Code!

I think that the Highway Code requires re-writing so that the majority of UK drivers may understand it a bit better.

Feel free to add more, but here's my entry;

Fog Lights: If you use your Fog Lights when you can see further than 100 metres up the road you are travelling, then you're an arse-hole. Craig Rogers

Front fog lights should be linked to the rest of the vehicle wiring so that turning them on a) prevents the headlights from being used, and b) limits the speed of the vehicle to 25mph.

Rear fog lights should be outlawed and their presence made an MOT failure since there is no conceivable situation in which they should ever be needed.

It's suprising how many folk are so thick and so ignorant that they think it's OK to drive with fog lights on when there's no visibility issues, and also with all 4 lights on the front at once. No idea how to drive. But then again, why are the Police not pulling them over?

anyone above 75 years of age isn't allowed to drive 0800-09.30 and 16.00-18.00 hrs.

Why the feck do they need to be on the road then?

Shipping is my thing.

Why not introduce a compulsory 10 yearly theory test?
New drivers had to do it but previous generations didn't, so why not make everyone.
It wouldn't be as big a task as a manual test anyway. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

i just don't get why some people feel the need to drive with dim dip or sidelights and fog lights on (i.e. no main dipped beams on)

what does it achieve? ugh...

maybe turning on the rear fog light outside of blizzard/cyclone/apocalypse conditions could a) release toxic gas into the cabin, or b) eject the driver straight into the roof (which doesn't open) or c) illuminate a sign in the rear window which says 'Im a

If its foggy thats the way to do it

However normally because they have a headlamp out

RED traffic lights? Only optional, not compulsory to stop.

Refuge islands in middle of road with keep left arrow are ideal places to overtake at.

Pedestrians should be shot on sight for being in the VIP lane and councils should provide better ramps/access to the VIP lanes.

Driving with rear foglights on when the visibility is greater than 100mtrs is a 3 point fixed penalty offence.
The Highway Code only suggests you don't need them, like so many other actual punishable offences.
It's about time the Highway Code stated the actual penalties for not obeying it.

Has anyone ever heared of someone being pulled for unnecessary use of rear foglights?
The police ought to take a firmer hand.
