Is this still the case for Stile End?
Is it driveable / passable safely in a 110? http://www.hull4x4.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3251 If a forum event is to be organised to the Lakes would be great to tag along Adventure isn't paved! |

It's worth mentioning about my video - don't be deceived by the patrol making it look easy. He's an excellent driver.

We had a good day yesterday, managed to fit in, Langdale to Tilberthwaite, Parkamoor, The Fox Grizdale, back of Tarn Hows, high Oxon Park, Hodge Close, the Old Coach Road and finally Breasthigh. We run out of daylight for Stile End but will fit it in next time.

Its no problem, D3s make it look simple. Hardest bit was getting it down the narrow track between the dry stone walls. 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6 1994 Def 90 300tdi |

Looks great!
I'm in the Lakes this weekend (Ambleside) with MrsK. She won't want anything lumpy, are there any easy non-damaging green lanes near Ambleside??? Anyone got one to suggest? If it involves a nice drive away from the crowds, and a few good views I may get her converted Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Old Coach road is the best and not too far away. Superb, long, easy lane, great views over Blencathra. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

adsebear, beautiful photos of a lovely location.
What were such rocky roads originally used for, and I noticed some heaps of "gravel"? on the side of the road in the last image?..what is that all about? Thanks, Pickles. |
