It'd be a real shame if "advertisers" on this forum were given some sort of get out of jail free card that stops people leaving any kind of negative feedback. Businesses need to accept that advertising on a forum can be a double edged sword at times, the advertisers get direct access to a self selected pool of prospective customers and the customers get to leave feedback (good or bad).
The best way to avoid negative feedback is to make sure you do every job to the best of your ability and when/if you do make a mistake then do everything you can to put it right. Prospective customers will make their own judgement on how a particular company has handled the problem if it gets as far as being posted. The advantage of a forum like this is that both sides can put their point of view across, better that than only getting one side of the "discussion". The only exception to this would be where one side or the other was being malicious or untruthful of course but that applies regardless of how much (if any) money one side has paid to advertise on this site. From the "tone" of the OP it seems that you want advertisers to get a free ride and be beyond criticism, frankly if that were the case then the "critic" would simply post on another forum and possibly point out that they are posting there because this forum has a bias against consumers over advertisers. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

I'm guessing the point is about one sponsor commenting on another's problems, as it could be seen as a conflict of interests, and not about comments from customers.

The point is I'd like it to be clear on this forum because its not
On D3 it was fun watching the battle of the Tuners Supporter / Sponsor just muddies the water No its not about a free ride and in this instance the OP is leaving feedback as they see it thats fine the supplier has responded thats fine however another supplier coming in and the position can become muddy |

Agree with Ken it ruins a very good forum. There's a lot of good guys on here. There is probably one or two who run very successful companies.
We should be able to give negative and positive statements. But the attacks aren't cricket, that's not how you solve a problem but how you get in a fight. Land Rover drivers don't fight each other. |

Presuming this is aimed at me ?
To clarify, My initial post on the latest complaint about CSK was in response to another trader, Ibexman, who claimed it was posted in the wrong section (he has now changed his post) I was responding that, in my opinion, it was in the right section. My posts after that were in answer to CSK's posts directed at me. If there is a rule where myself as a Sponsor is not allowed to post on a thread that a Supporter has posted on then I was not aware of it and will 'stand corrected' if that is the case |

If there is a rule where myself as a Sponsor is not allowed to post on a thread that a Supporter has posted on then I was not aware of it and will 'stand corrected' if that is the case
RULES a.Commercial signatures, including those with links to company websites, are not allowed. Links to company websites in profile information are also forbidden. Companies are paying to advertise on Defender2.net, they help keep Defender2.net running and support the Defender community. b.Commercial posts (including Private Messages) promoting your products/services (or those of companies you have any type of formal relationship with) and/or services are not allowed on Defender2.net, unless your post falls within the following specific guidelines/exceptions: 1.Your post is not commercial. We have members from companies who join in the social and discussion side of Defender2.net and feel no need to promote their products and services, they're here as Defender owners and enthusiasts, which (of course) is welcomed! 2.The following exception does not apply to representatives of chip tuning/plug-in box/remapping companies/traders - you cannot supply any information in response to questions on the site. Your post is an entirely informational reply to a request or question posted by a site member who is not associated with your company. For example, if you sell tyres and someone on Defender2.net asks for some technical information, you are free to reply with that information, but you must not make any reference to the fact that you may sell products related to the question. Please make a full and open reply on the forums, you must not ask for members to contact you personally for details, or send private messages to them. It's more helpful to them, and also to others who use the forums, if you share your knowledge openly. Remember: there must also be no commercial content to your post whatsoever. c.Sponsoring companies cannot comment on products or services from competing companies whatsoever, nor can they compare their offerings to those from other sponsors, either publicly or via private messages. It is up to potential customers to compare offerings from sponsors. d.Posts which contravene these rules and take advantage of the open nature of Defender2.net will be removed without notice |
