I think the saleman at Doncaster are only used to dealing with upper class range rover and discovery sales and talk down to you if you arive in anything less. I flelt like on is shoe, he didnt realise i also own 2012 range rover sport, his loss i wont use them again.
Stop complaining ....... you got a far better 'Stratstone' experience than I ever did ............. the sales team in Newcastle wouldn't even speak to me, they were so busy doing nothing in particular. See the post on Stratstone Newcastle.
I believe that Stratstone is just a marketing brand of Evans Halshaw who seem to specialise in selling discounted Vauxhall Corsas to teenagers. Maybe their sales professionals don't relate to people with real money?
same here, i was genuinely considering buying a 90 they had in till the salesman started... biggest problem for me is wanting a 110 i don't know if it will fit in the garage yet nobody will lend me one

Guy Salmon were the only dealer that actually followed up my enquiry and kept in contact with me.
It seems to me the issue is not just with a particular dealership but who in that dealership and when you deal with them. Things just appear to be so inconsistent. Good service and attention to quality has to be consistent, repeatable and become the norm rather than an exceptional event worthy of note on a car forum.
As an example, I purchased my Defender from Stratstones Doncaster. Walked straight in, saw a salesman and got a deal done on a px of my RRS within 30 mins. Yes, the figures were better than anywhere else but it was also the confidence of the salesman and his not playing any games with me. His name was Chris Hobson.
As a contrast, I test drove a Defender at Guy Salmon, asked them to give me a day to think about it but they never even rang me back! I had previously bought a RRS from them and they did all the servicing on it, so i was expecting them to know I was a serious customer.
