just wondering if some (hopefully all) of the issues are now resolved on the latest def's as I'm considering replacing mine for a new one?
for example the problem of contamination into the fuel tank, egr valves - if sorted what's been done? is it a slightly different model? clutches what else? and more importantly should I go for silver or stornaway grey in the 110xs? |

so assuming the problems have been resolved on the line do we know what they've done to sort the egr related problems which I think may or may not be related to the topic 'drop in power' ?
on another note as I like to try and keep the motor clean will the grey show up water mark which I sure the silver wont'? |

I think it would be true to say you might still have issues - but you might not. Here in Australia (look at AULRO) there are new Defenders with issues still. Rather than build date, it seems to be luck of the draw with your particular vehicle.
But obviously, an 09/10 model will have many issues that affected the first ones fixed - brake vac pump, sump etc. But the engine / fuel issue (s) / gearbox etc - luck of the draw. I'd get one though - work through any probs under warranty. |

agree with this, I would still relocate all the breathers including the fuel one up to bulkhead height at least!! and give it some extra anti rust your self before going off road |

Now there's a can of worms! Black and Bonatti - IMHO the only two colours that should even be considered, but then wouldn't it be boring if all LRs were black and grey? |

I can see from the photo your not against keeping her clean and on that basis isn't silver a better option as it doesn't show the water marks after cleaning? also it keeps the car cooler in the sun. I have to say I do rather like the grey, and besides I'd be tempted to visit Stornaway if I bought one in that colour. The wheels on your trailer - does anyone know if they're available as a factory fit? |

Keswick Green (being non-metallic) makes a great traditional LR look, especially with a white roof (& wheels) - I'm sure this would work on a 110 also, but I think the white roof helps - it might look a bit flat without it..? I might not have been brave enough to order one from new without seeing one first (would likely have gone for Tonga or equiv.), but mine is 2nd hand and when I saw it I really liked it! Plus, I have not seen another one the same, which is an added bonus. Happy to email pics if you want to PM email (I don't have web-pics). For me either way, Defenders should be green - any green so long as it's green! If not, then blue. Then white. Then red. (Silver is for Range Rovers etc). |

I saw a great 90 in Keswick Green with a white roof in Cologne yesterday.
Looks the biz! One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |
