Fuel Cooler Protection
I have a fuel cooler protection cover to fit.

I see on the parts list the cooler is held by screws into thin clips.

How likely will these be to snap, i.e should i buy some replacements prior to tackling this job.....

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I thought about fitting one of these but considered the amount of protection they give to be not worth it. I feel the danger lies more in sticks getting between the fuel lines and chassis rather than damage to the cooler itself.
We've been to plenty of rough places with friends who have Tdci's as well and no one we know has had trouble.

We have a lot more debris here though in the UK when it comes to vegitation and hedges etc.

I've got a D44 one, soaked bolts with WD40 overnight and had no issues at all.
Obviously just be careful with the threaded inserts in the chassis.

Once fitted you have access to the fuel cooler on the cooler its self.

I'm pleased with it, it can't be any more enclosed that what it is due to possible heat build uo and or rubbing on fuel / coolant lines. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

AlanH.

I fitted a APT Fabrication cover more to protect the inlet/outlets of the cooler.
I also have their fuel tank and diff protectors fitted.

On my last crawl underneath to check things I found a stick jambed between the gearbox and the floor.
This was on the passenger side and the broken end was 100mm from the fuel guard. Cheers,
Kyle.
