Changing to a 2.4 Puma-What do I look for?
Hi All,
Hopeful that the end of year figures are going to allow me to upgrade the TD5 to a 2010 2.4 90CSW.
Questions are: what do I need to look out for over the usual Defender, engine or otherwise? Is there any checklist for symptoms of possible problems?
Any help would be appreciated. Would add that the change is brought on by the missus getting somewhat annoyed at having to wear earplugs and cover herself with a travel rug to stop cold and spray during a recent shooting trip to Scotland Laughing now she doesn't have any complaints about changing Very Happy

EGR related problems, any MIL light displayed what so ever will mean a problem.
Excessive gear change transmission slack.
Of course rust. Rolling Eyes
Any fiddled around with electrics especially home made style but shouldn't be an issue full stop.
Check servicing details and how long is left until next is due. (Can be expensive) NEVER SURRENDER! ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

If you gave up slaughtering wildlife, you could keep the TD5 & buy a couple of these instead... http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2...Caps%2C397 Mr. Green Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender
