Eric, I discovered a rust spot withing a couple of weeks from new. So, it wouldn't surprise me.

2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Galway Green

Bodywork Woes

I have just been told that my 110 XS Utility Wagon will most likely require a complete rear tub due to a small hole on the rear offside panel!

I washed it and when drying it off a small paint fleck came off without much encouragement leaving a 4- 5mm hole underneath. On closer inspection I noticed two small bubbles in the paintwork of the front offside wing and around the windscreen seal! I have been advised by an approved LR bodyshop to contact my nearest LR dealer to seek a claim under the perforation warranty - there are two years left on the warranty. I take it from reading some of this thread that responses from LR dealers can be varied - any advice?

Hi Matilda110,

I am sorry to learn of your concern.

I would advise that as you have stated, please visit your local Land Rover approved retailer who can inspect the concern and while they are able to make an initial judgement if they do not believe the concern to be covered under warranty, they are also able to submit a warranty claim directly to the Land Rover warranty team.

In order to submit this, the retailer are required to document the concern and also provide photographic evidence of the concern. If you do have any concerns following this please do not hesitate to contact me by PM with the following details:
