Hello again to to the forum. Long time no see. I've been working away.
Now a question for the web gurus? I want a web site? and I want to register a domain address e.g www.co.uk how do I do this? I don't mind paying for the address or host? Bit cheaper would be good. Any advice would be great. About £35 a quarter for a more basic site, which isn't what some describe as basic! They give you an email account and things like that too.
For more features what Chris has is about the pricing. You don't have to be a web / IT wiz to do it either. ![]() β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

Depending on what you want the website for the simplest way is you to register a domain with Wordpress. That will give a page editor, hosting and all the DNS setup without having to worry about any of the technical stuff.
I use Domain Monger for my domain registrations. There are cheaper but I like the tools they have. P www.td5.org |

Have a look at godaddy.com they do domain registration, hosting, etc. They are very competitive. I have used them for at least 10 years with no issues what so ever.

AVOID GODADDY @ ALL COSTS
![]() Do not even search for a domain availability on GODADDY either as they will register it if you don't and then offer it for sale ![]() 110 XS Previously owned SI SII SIIa SIII & Light weight (air portable) |

I use https://www.123-reg.co.uk for all my sites hosting and domain name registrations and never had any issues.
Probably plenty of folks on here in IT. It's my line of work so shout if you need anything. Cheers, Dan. |

Have you had a bad experience with them, I would be interested to know why you say this? Like I said I have used them to register many domains, hosting, email, etc. for nearly 14 years with no issues. |

GoDaddy have an appalling reputation in "the trade", generally considered the worst mainstream hosting company out there.I wouldn't go near them.
I usually recommend easily.co.uk or 123-reg.co.uk to my web customers, I can also register domains for them but for your own protection it is always a good idea to register the domain name with a domain specialist and then get web hosting from a different company. I've spent way too much time in the past trying to extricate domains from hosting companies. If you do go for a combined registration and hosting package make sure the name is being registered to you and also that you can transfer it out without an "administration fee". Some companies out there will register the domain in their own name on your behalf and they can then pretty much charge what they want for the domain name when you want to leave their hosting. killer90, you are paying way too much for your web hosting... http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |
