Diff Lock Light
Hi All,

Having some issues with the diff lock. Im sure the diff is locking but i'm getting no light on the dash.

I have the instrument cluster out at the moment (other work going on in the dash area) but before I start stripping the cluster down to replace a ? blown bulb I need to know if it should light up when the ignition is first turned on as with other dash warning lights? Mine doesn't... Or is this normal?

Thanks both Thumbs Up

So no need to strip the cluster down, must be an issue elsewhere. Maybe the switch on the box...

the sensors do fail on them simple to replace but difficult to access. Cheers

The other way to check the lamp is to short the switch, it means accessing the wires into the switch which as stated before is a pain but better than starting on the console if you don't need to.
I had similar issues didn't know if I had diff lock or not I even reached the stage of replacing the switch twice!!!!I over tightened the first one and broke it.
As it turned out there was nothing wrong with the switch or lamp, but the links from the selector down to the box were seized, I even thought it was moving enough until I really tried it and discovered you can actually hear the switch engage, there's a good guide on you tube just search diff lock and follow the guide.
Hope this helps it's very satisfying to sort it out yourself lube it all up and try it out every few weeks just to keep it all moving correctly.

push the diff lock lever over, jack a wheel up and see if its engaged with the light off first. Cheers
