Clutch/bearing or gearbox screeching/whirring noise?

My Puma has started making a screeching/whirring noise when I dip the clutch to come to a stop. Or if I'm rolling along the road and then dip the clutch while still in gear it makes this noise. It doesn't seem to be there if I take it out of gear when rolling though. It doesn't always do it, but seems to be happening more often. Gear changing also seems to be getting more difficult. It doesn't make any noises when not moving. If after dipping the clutch, I then lift it slightly the noise stops.

Could this be the clutch or clutch release bearing or gearbox or something else?
