Just got my self a new britpart (actually made very well!) cubby box to replace my centre seat on my 2003 90, a job ive been meaning to do for years but only just got round to it as i want somewhere to mount my CB.
Apart from fitting it higher so to act more as a elbow rest, has anybody got any tips on how to fit it, fastening, position etc? Many thanks for the help. Pete. |

When you mount it make sure to leave room so that you can use the transfer lever. I screwed two bits of wood to the inspection plate then screwed the cubby box to these. This gives you room to move the cubby box and get a good position. Just make sure that the holes in the bottom of the cubby box line up with the wood. If you look in Tom Sheppards Expedition guide, his cubby box in the Land Rover 90 is hinged so that it lifts up from the inspection plate. Beneath the inspection tray he has a removable storage unit for tools etc. Nice idea and I am always meaning to do this with the 110 Tdi but never got around to it yet. The wood beneath the cubby box will allow the cubby box to clear the lip just behind the seats. Good luck with your fitting, it is a very useful item. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
