2001 Defender 110 Td5 CSW Java Black
Can't see it ever happening anyway and like already said think it's pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of motoring anyway. I get free road tax on the Series and just accept I have to pay it on the Defender. If I didn't accept that or couldn't afford it then I wouldn't have it and would stick with my series as an everyday vehicle which it could quite easily be. It helps hold the value of my older land rovers aswell! 2001 TD5 110 County Station Wagon - sold

France 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
I would have thought it less important to worry about VED than to campaign for “classic” vehicles to be exempt from emissions requirements.

Not much use having an immaculate Series 1 - zero road taxed or not - if it’s illegal to drive it in any major city. Pre-Euro 4 vehicles are already restricted in many towns and cities in Europe, Boris only postponed the emissions charges for London, my own county town of Norwich is one of those ear-marked for future anti-pollution “experiments”.
