Took the 90 for a drive with the scan gauge connected and it is showing between 4 and 14mpg which is clearly incorrect anyone on here with one know how to re-calibrate it

Hi,

I've just fitted one this morning so will be going through the fuel calibration process next time I fill the tank up. How did you calibrate it initially - did you go through the process in the instructions when you filled the tank?

Cheers Thumbs Up

hi,
yes, I did as descripted ...
I wonder if the filling procedure is something to do with instant mpg

I am also not doing same road all the time, it can be highway , city, ....

Did you set the engine size and diesel type according to the manual (Basic Setup Parameters, page 11)?

MPG accuracy is not perfect but nowhere as a far as 14MPG, at least in my case, and it improves with subsequent fill-ups if you take the time to adjust the volumes of fuel to help calibrate the scangauge (Calibrating the ScanGauge, page 20)

Mine is spot on every time.

I never used a calibration procedure, just put the parameters right first time it is powered up(engine size, tank size and diesel type) and at each fillup log the liters put in. Since then it is working a perfect.

The only nasty thing is that when idling the consumption goes up and you need to drive a bit to get it down. The further you are in a tank/ the more fillups you have logged, the quicker it gets back to normal values after idling and the less variation you will notice / the more precise short trips become.

The calibration is so you get an estimate of fuel remaining in the tank an does not affect either real time, or average fuel consumption. It uses inputs, speed, distance and fuel rate flow from the vehicle's engine sensors to calculate your consumption. It's a bit of a shock seeing those mpg figures in front of you isn't it?

Hi

I've reseted my scangauge but can't seem to reset the litres on fillup...

I've had a problem during the summer, on the fuel breather pipe and was unable to fillup the tank for a few months till get it sorted...

Now on fillup the other day the scangauge states I've filled uo 450L! Shocked wich might be true because I never set them to the right amount in the meantime...

Now, the only way to tell the scangauge the right amount of fuell in the tank is to let my finger on the < key till it reaches 65 wich I recon it would take me about half an hour? Can't I reset this item? Regards
Joao
