Will anyone in the area be organising a trip out similar to the between Xmas/NewYear one anytime soon? Was brilliant fun! Cheers, David

Anyone know whether the restrictions related to it being flooded/waterlogged etc. have been lifted yet?

Ahh ok, maybe worth waiting a while longer then.
If anyone ever fancies a day doing so, you've got at least one person joining you! Just give me a shout Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

I agree with Diesel_Jim, the hard tracks are ok, some are covered with a lot of mud caused by recent troop activity.
The areas off the main transit routes is very wet in places, a few military vehicles have sunk up to their sills due to thinking that just because they're in a 4x4 they can go anywhere. The other recent change is the new fence that now goes around the impact area, so all the byways that lead into the impact area have been closed. I'm out there every day, so if anyone wants more info please let me know |

Expect it to get even busier in the coming months/years as it becomes the Army's sole major manoeuvre training area in Europe. This combined with increased troop numbers in UK as we return from Germany will up the usage significantly, but then it is a training area! Should still (hopefully) be room for the odd LR though. |

I may pop down for a bimble this weekend.
Can anyone point me at/give me trailwise UIDs for some none scratchy lanes. Obviously - happy to hook with anyone to form a small group. John |

Just grab an OS map... pretty much every byway on there that doesn't have any greenery near it, is open and non scratchy.
The byways to the south of the Bulford ranges, through the woods, and nice, scenic, and non scratchy too. although there's a couple of VERY deep puddles in there at the moment. Give it a couple of weeks and these would have drained down. |
