Experiences with SPOT messenger
Any one using this device?

I just bought one to be used in our next trip to the Atacama desert and I like to know user's feedbacks.
Is it reliable, or I need a 2nd safety measure?

Cheers Eduardo

I've used mine several times, I've never had to use the emergency services options but it's worked well for me.

It's good to let people know where you are and you can send an 'I am here' email to a predetermined list of people. Plus they can track you live.

Well worth it in my opinion, especially if travelling alone.

Battery life is excellent.

Finally I recieve the Spot Gen 3 that have some advantages over Gen 2. I hope that I can make some test during the weekend. I also hope that I dont need to use ina emergency situation. Anyway the other half request a Satphone for our nest trip to the Altiplano-Atacama desert Neutral

Cheers Eduardo
