Try finding and cleaning the earth connection, it always seems to be earthing problems! Jeff

Either the switch or earthing as already suggested.
Probably earthing, try adding a temporary Earth and try it. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

The connector for the brake light switch is just behind the servo in the engine bay i think. Just unplug it and short it to ground (touch the two connectors together if it's a plastic two connector switch) if the brake lights work then you know it's the switch, if not it's a bad earth to the tail lights.

Check for other light failures on the rear i.e. reverse, side lights and indicators. You may have to lay underneath the near side just behind the battery box and check and the main earth to the chassis it has a habit of corroding. It is on the inside of the longitudinal chassis member. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |
