Hi Chris
Whilst I appreciate you specified dash or vent, I use the windscreen. I have a RAM Mount X-Grip, short arm & suction base all on 1" balls for my iPhone 4S. The suction mount lives in the bottom right hand corner, placing the iphone to hand and doesn't obstruct vision. The mount is rock solid and the X-Grip allows for phone upgrades / different size devices to be mounted, so is future- proof to a degree. The RAM code is RAM-HOL-UN7B-KT If you'd like a photo of my set up or a chat, drop me a PM and I'll sort it out Chris |

I've used the Brodit (as in the link above .. http://www.dsldevelopments.com ) mounts for years, on many different cars, and they are fantastic. Very secure, solid and easy to fit and non-destructive.
Highly recommended...not the cheapest, but great value. cheers simon PS I use a RAM mount for my iPad, but for the phones its Brodit.... |

As I have the lifeproof case for my iPhone, I use the gopro compatible lifeproof bracket and a compatible ram mount suction mount. 2013 Aintree Green 110 Station Wagon SX

I've bend an iron coat hanger to fit on my rear view mirror. It enables me to film or take photos when offroading and the mirror enables me to easily point it correctly. I wire it up with a usb cable into the cigarette lighter.

+ 3 for Brodit. I use their active holder which has a single cable running to the usb port on my HU, so the phone charges and uses the iphone screen to feed the music whilst running nav app.
Top bit of kit, and makes the built in COMMAND on my Merc seem like a complete waste of money (luckily it was free) Fully Restored 89 110 CSW V8 CLS 350 CDI for the sensible stuff |

How does the mount actually get attached to the dash?.....I've seen some that simply seem to hang off the A/C vents?
Cheers, Pickles. |
