You know what to do Glyn
![]() ![]() ![]() I struggled to find a solution but in the end opted for the Sarfari Equip 50mm reciever with a drop plate for a normal 50mm ball - a purpose made drop plate for the nato hitch - and a warn 50mm recovery shackle. AndrewS has the same hitch . This allows me me to change from one to another in only a few mins ![]() |

The step is staying ![]() ![]() but imagine it upside down and bolted onto the rear step by the Dixon Bate ball/jaw combo. Glyn |

Might work but i would still want something to brace the top of it back to the crossmember
![]() You could always modify your nas step to be the same as the original nas step which had the 2" reciever in it ![]() |

Now that I am pretty happy with where I am with the fender I am moving onto a trailer
![]() Modifying the Step to receiver is on my mind too, just the extra work involved. ut if that is all I can do I will have to go down that route. Glyn |

would not take a lot of work, you would need to cut a hole approx 60mm square in the plate where the holes are for the ball to weld in a min of 5mm wall thickness box section and a few gussets in the rear

Can you make a bracket like the dixon bate slider but bigger and with two pins that will go onto your dixon bate system? Fit a couple of anderson connectors so you can throw it in the boot when towing?

Remember if you modify or mess around with the tow bar and tow - it needs to be type approved Mike

James, I can't attach that to what I have got. Here is a picture of the rear step/ tow hitch I have ![]() This is what I am lookin at doing: ![]() Red is 15-20mm thick plate, Yellow is 2" Receiver It is just a rough idea but I am sure I will gome to a good solution in the end.
The fun police are here ![]() Glyn Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

Sorry thought I read you had a dixon bate but you were on about a pin/ball hitch not an adjustable. I shall go back and hide

Yeah i dont conform - but seen people done for it and its not nice. The type approval applies to all aftermarket tow equipment and will apply to anything you would use to tow off. Recovery of course wouldnt apply. Mike |
