As above, for basic functions it suits the job, the extra audio jack just gives you more flexibility. Not much use though if you wan to upgrade your system with other kit but for your purpose it fits the bill. Thumbs Up $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I have the upgraded Alpine unit on my MY13 90XS it is truly excellent with a great little sub on the back of the centre console. For the £150 I spent upgrading I don't think I could have matched the quality if I factor in installation of the phone mic and sub.

It is one of the best in car stereos I have had (including the 2x Audis and a BMW era Mini I've had as my most recent cars)

Thanks for the tips. If one of these doesn't appear on the market at the appropriate time - any suggestions from Halfords selection?

Here is a LR one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defen...35ce052567
Bidding though sadly Confused
If that doesn't work something like this would suit your needs: http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/car-audio.aspx/kdc-4557u-car-radio
Not the cheapest but has the functions you require, should be a good quality and you can adjust the display to green to match the rest of the dash in the LR $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

If you want just want cheap with no bells or whistles, any Sony,Pioneer,JVC.Pioneer have one of the best sounds as good as Alpine/Kenwood/Clarion,(a lot of people and reviews say Pioneer has the best sound) but their build quality isn't as good. You dont seem to be after anything fancy so check out this Sony,it has a usb,aux port for a £10 more than the £50 jobbie so you can plug in MP3 device/flash drives.

Sony CDX-GT470UM Car CD Player
